Concord, NH - After an extensive nationwide search, the Council of the New Hampshire Medical Society has selected James G. Potter, from the greater Washington, DC, area, as its new Executive Vice President.

On October 7, in a closed, non-public session, the NH Attorney General presented proposed emergency rules to the Board of Medicine to address the opioid crisis.
There will be another closed session meeting on October 28, where physician comments will be reviewed.  The Board of Medicine will be able to take official action on November 4.

The Foundation for Healthy Communities has released the 2015-2016 New Hampshire Prevention Guidelines for healthcare providers and patients.  Revised to include preventive services that are covered by the Affordable Care Act, the New Hampshire Prevention Guidelines are intended to help better inform patients of evidence-based, national recommendations of preventive services, as well as serve as a quick resource for clinicians.
