NNESAMNNESAM is the local chapter of ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) providing support and education for Addictions treatment providers in VT, NH and ME.

Their membership consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, all of whom are striving to provide the best treatment for patients with substance use disorders and are advocates for raising awareness and improving the lives of these patients and their communities.

NNESAM holds an annual scientific meeting in November with timely presentations relevant to Addiction Medicine. Participants may earn 8 AMA PRA Category 1 credits, which meet the opioid CME requirement for NH license renewal.

This year’s meeting is November 10 and 11 at the Bethel Inn Resort, Bethel ME.

If you haven’t registered yet, please consider doing so now.  Friday evening and all day Saturday will earn you 8 hours of CME from interesting lectures dealing with relevant topics in Addiction Medicine (applicable to ABAM MOC).  Food is included as is the opportunity to exchange ideas with speakers and colleagues.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of NNESAM should contact Todd Mandell, MD at pctwman@myfairpoint.net or log on to ASAM.org and click on Membership or see us on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/ASAM.NorthernNE
