External Peer Review - Maine Medical Association (MMA)

MMA facilitates an External Peer Review program connecting physicians in like-specialties with others to do external peer reviews. These could either be off-site or on-site reviews. If a physician is interested in doing this type of work, all they have to do is send a copy of their CV which will be sent to the ordering facility for consideration. If they are selected, they agree to review charts using MMA evaluation forms and, from those sheets, prepare a report. The typical fee is $100/hour, but that may be negotiable. If the ordering facility wants an on-site review done (typically one day reviews) travel is paid.

Currently there are two review requests for a facility in South Portland: one Infectious Disease review,  and a request for 3 or 4 OBGYN physicians for an on-site Women’s Center review.

CV's should be sent to Dianna M. Poulin or fax: 207.622.3332.

Questions may be directed to either Dianna (phone: 207.480.4194) or Gordon Smith, MMA's EVP (phone: 207.480.4197).

Passionate, caring physicians wanted!  - near Concord, NH

Looking for one or more general practice physicians to join us in building the practice of your dreams. I am currently operating a small consulting and advocacy practice but want to offer more. Many of our patients have been unable to find the medical home they long for. Help us give it to them.

You: General practitioner frustrated by the drudgery of the hamster wheel and longing to love medicine again. (Or maybe just trying to keep your toes in the medical field while balancing the demands of a young family?)

Us: Somewhat irreverent, patient-loving Preventive Medicine physician with background in Emergency Medicine and an eager RN with a heart of gold trying to save the world out of a sun-filled office near Concord.

If this sounds interesting, let’s talk. I am eager to find a like-minded partner or two. Tell me what hours you want to work and what procedures and services you want to provide. Part-time is okay! I will make sure you have the space, equipment, supplies, and support to do it. I am committed to building a practice that promotes health and well-being for both patients and providers.
