Payment Reform – The Theory of Win-Win-Win

On Tuesday, March 26, 2013, the New Hampshire Medical Society, in collaboration with the New Hampshire Hospital Association and New Hampshire Citizens Health Initiative, sponsored an educational program on payment reform.

Harold Miller, executive director of the Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform (, presented to the group an overview of payment reform and issues confronting the healthcare system.  He focused on the related topics of cost control and a unique approach to delivering high-quality, patient-centered health care with a renewed focus on patient engagement and lower costs.  The session dealt with the importance of physicians, hospitals, employers, patients, government entities and healthcare providers working together in a collaborative fashion to align interests and focus strategically.

The 90-minute program provided participants with very concrete information and possibilities as we all tackle this issue of payment reform.  To review the presentation, click here.
