Board-certified Peer Reviewers Needed

July 18, 2017

KEPRO was recently awarded the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services Medicaid contract to perform retrospective health utilization management reviews.

The contract requires peer review (specialty match) by NH-licensed, board-certified MDs or DOs, for services that do not meet medical necessity criteria resulting in denial or appeal. The volume of work will depend upon the volume received from the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, and the specialty match required. The opportunity should be considered periodic, supplemental income. However, peer reviewers may be called upon for other KEPRO contracts, if interested.

KEPRO has a credentialing and re-credentialing (every two years) process very similar to hospital and health system credentialing processes. Annual mandatory compliance training is required through KEPRO’s web-based training platform, and takes approximately one hour of the peer reviewers time.

The peer reviewer will always be notified by a KEPRO staff member to determine availability and turnaround time. Hourly/case rates will be dependent upon the turnaround time and specialty.
