Did you know?

During our last Council meeting in April, it occurred to me that there may be a lot of information that needs to be passed along.

HB463 And Its Critical Amendment

April 26, 2017

A quick email from you could make a difference in your drinking water. It can just say that you are in favor of lowering the standard for PFC contaminants in our drinking water. Testimony before the committee is even more effective.

Bill name: House Bill 463 and its critical amendment

NHMS Strategic Planning Survey

April 19, 2017

ChangeAs time passes, one must always stop to reflect upon aspects of life that we can change. To spend energy on evaluating oneself is always a good investment and helps us to determine a path forward.   When I took the oath of office as your president, I had strong opinions on how I thought the Medical Society could move forward into the future and how we could work to remain relevant to the changing demographics of our members. I am certain that my opinions are not always shared by the membership. So, we will ask you.

April 18, 2017Cigarette Smoking and E-Cigarette Use Among NH Youth

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) recognizes the important role health professionals play in a child’s life. InforMed Mailing - Opioid CME Requirement

April 11, 2017

NHMS has received a number of phone calls regarding a mailing from InforMed announcing its opioid-prescribing CME course.

This is a legitimate mailing. The InforMed course was recently added to the NH Board of Medicine's approved course listing. Please note that you are welcome to choose any combination of courses from that list, equaling three credit hours, so if the InforMed course does not spark your interest, there are other options.

HealthcareGIVES

April 5, 2017

healthcareGives logoAs spring progresses at its own pace here in New Hampshire, we are presented with many new, fresh opportunities. In my email, I receive nearly daily notices about another 5k or fundraiser. I always look forward to seeing people out of their homes again.

In the spring, the Seacoast healthcare community gathers to present a grant to a local nonprofit organization. The giving circle, HealthcareGIVES, is comprised of 190 members of the medical community.
