Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is the most common diagnosis for a victim of Intimate Partner Violence.  Depression is the second most common. 

Please be mindful of this if you encounter anyone with either diagnosis.

Victims enrolled in crisis services are much less likely to be hurt or killed by their partner.  Victims involved in mental health treatment are less likely to die by suicide.
