The American Medical Association's New Prediabetes Quality Measures:

Submit your comments and help assure quality measures

Earlier this year, the American Medical Association (AMA) met to develop quality measures around prediabetes, a condition affecting 84 million Americans. These measures, intended to assist physicians in enhancing quality of care, have now been released in draft form. AADE welcomes all members to test, evaluate, and comment on these measures.

Your comments are important in the development of quality support for the prevention/delay of type 2 diabetes. Areas of focus for the measures include screening and testing for diabetes, referring/providing those at risk an intervention, and follow-up testing. AADE Chief Science and Practice Officer Leslie Kolb, RN, BSN, MBA represented AADE during the initial drafting of the AMA quality measures and stressed the importance of giving AADE members like you the chance to comment. Join us in submitting comments to the AMA that represent our profession and those we serve.
