RATH, YOUNG and PIGNATELLI was founded in 1987 to provide clients with a comprehensive, solution-oriented approach to their legal issues.  Our diverse practice has grown rapidly and established a reputation for achieving client success through creative and aggressive advocacy before courts, legislatures, and regulatory agencies.  We represent clients nationally from our offices are in Concord, Nashua, and Boston.

Our professionals are recognized as leaders in the field of medical legal defense, representing medical professionals in courts and before their professional boards.  We have vast experience in defending medical care providers with excellent results in legal actions.  We also represent their interests before professional boards, in responding to requests for information in response to patient complaints and in representing our clients at hearings if necessary. Our senior litigation partner, Michael Pignatelli, is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has achieved Martindale Hubble’s highest rating for his pre-eminent legal ability and highest ethical standards and has been designated a Best Lawyer in America by reviews of his peers.

Our health care group, led by Ken Bartholomew has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with the New Hampshire Medical Society and its members.  We know the health care industry is subject to continuing and profound change as a result of unrelenting economic, social, and political pressures. Our goal is to provide practical guidance to providers by:

  • closely following both the economic and legal changes in the industry to anticipate and understand the needs of our clients and to provide efficient solutions in compliance with multiple federal and state regulations.
  • monitoring medical malpractice law and process (such as Panel Hearings, Early Offer) and providing expertise in helping providers through these issues.
  • providing a full range of support for healthcare transactions, including negotiating mergers and acquisitions, tax advice, advice to non-profits, and practical advice on shifting risk by contract.
  • staying in close contact with regulators and legislators at both state and federal levels and working in close collaboration with our government relations group to achieve legislative solutions.
