Dr. G. Kenton Allen Inaugurated as 189th President of the New Hampshire Medical Society
G. Kenton Allen, MD, MBA, was inaugurated as the 189th president of the New Hampshire Medical Society during its 2020 Annual Scientific Conference held virtually this past weekend.
Dr. Allen serves as the Vice Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. Kenton was also elected as President of Health Partners of New Hampshire, Inc. – a Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) that serves over 50 practices, representing over 500 physicians and allied health professionals across state’s Seacoast region.
In addition, Dr. Allen is a co-founder of Doc2Doc Lending - an online lending platform exclusively for physicians and dentists that aims to provide doctors access to capital at more favorable rates by not penalizing for the often significant student loan debts doctors must incur. In just over a year of operating, Doc2Doc Lending has made over $2.3M in personal loans to doctors from 21 states, representing over 50 medical institutions and 26 specialties.
Dr. Allen is an alumnus of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, NH, and later graduated with honors from The College of the Holy Cross, earning a bachelors degree in biology. He attended Dartmouth Medical School and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth before completing a residency in anesthesiology, perioperative and pain management at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He subsequently specialized in regional anesthesiology through a fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Kenton lives in Portsmouth with his wife, Rachel, and three daughters, Adelae, Nyelle and Zahara.
In the coming year, Dr. Allen will be focusing on addressing the challenges facing young physicians across the Granite State.
