As a condition of relicensure, ALL physicians must report biennially the type and amount of Continuing Medical Education credits obtained within the two calendar-year cycle.  

NH Medical Society One of Over 70 Groups Calling for MOC Reform

The New Hampshire Medical Society (NHMS) is one of more than 70 state and national specialty physician organizations that signed a letter sent to the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) to express physicians’ concerns surrounding maintenance of certification (MOC) process. 

The letter questions the usefulness of the high-stakes MOC exam, the exorbitant costs of the MOC process, and the lack of transparent communication from the certifying boards have led to damaging the MOC brand and value of recertification.

Human Case of Jamestown Canyon Virus in NH

NH DPHS Health AlertsOn August 18, 2017, NH DHHS issued a health alert regarding a human case of Jamestown Canyon Virus (JVC) in New Hampshire.

Key Points and Recommendations:

  1. New Hampshire’s first human infection with Jamestown Canyon Virus (JCV) in 2017 has been identified. JCV is an uncommon arboviral infection that is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito.
