Medicaid EHR Incentive Program

Program Year 2016 is the final year in which Eligible Professionals (EPs) and Eligible Hospitals (EHs) can begin to participate in the Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program.  Providers that may not have met the Medicaid patient volume threshold in the past may, in fact, meet it now as a result of Medicaid expansion. 

Mumps on a NH University Campus

On October 25, 2016, the NH DHHS issued a health alert regarding mumps on a New Hampshire University campus. NH Division of Public Health Services health alert network

  • Healthcare providers should be aware that in the last couple months there have been three, apparently unlinked cases of mumps on the University of New Hampshire Durham campus.

CMS Finalizes Historic Medicare Reform Law

Tool to Test Iron Deficiency in Infants and Children?

One of our New Hampshire family physician colleagues, Louis Kazal, MD, is involved in a research project with the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, to design a non-invasive bone marrow iron assessment handheld instrument that could be used in the exam room to test infants and children for iron deficiency.  

Dr. Kazal hopes that you might answer a truly brief 9 question survey (completion time of 2 minutes or less).

2017 PQRS Negative Payment Adjustment Notification

PQRS participants are now being notified by letter regarding the 2017 CMS PQRS negative payment adjustment.

The CMS letter indicates that the recipient did not satisfactorily report 2015 PQRS quality measures or satisfactorily participate in a qualified clinical data registry (QCDR). Therefore, all of their 2017 Medicare Part B Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) payments will be subject to a 2.0% reduction.
