Faculty Bio:
Dr. David de Gijsel, MD, MSc, MPH works on the intersection of social justice and health. As the Chief Health Officer at Better Life Partners, he designs community-embedded, whole-person care for people with substance use disorders. As an infectious disease physician at Dartmouth Health, he focuses on the infectious complications of injection drug use, specifically on new care models for the treatment of hepatitis C in people who inject drugs. David completed medical school at of the University of Amsterdam, a residency in
Primary Care and Social Internal Medicine at Montefiore in the Bronx and an Infectious Disease fellowship and residency in Leadership Preventive Medicine at Dartmouth. He holds an appointment as Assistant Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine and at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and in Addiction Medicine. He lives in Vermont.
